Awesome Batch of 13 Vintage 1990s Hard Plastic Dinosaurs Includes a large T Rex and a 40cm Long Brachiosaurus Sauropod Dinosaur
A WONDERFUL BATCH OF 13 HARD PLASTIC DINOSAURS. THEY ARE VINTAGE MADE FROM THE 1990S.
TRICERATOPS had three horns on its face, and was a plant eater. These horns are thought to have been used for duelling. The giant neck frill, meanwhile, was a source of protection. Triceratops was walking the earth when the dinosaurs were wiped out at around 65 million years ago.
TYRANNOSAURUS REX (T-Rex) name means King Tyrant Lizard. Tyrannosaurus Rex lived at the very end of the Late Cretaceous period about 90 to 66 million years ago. The T-Rex jaw held around 60 individual serrated teeth, each one of them as long as a banana and sharp as a knife. Weighing in at 7000kg and standing at an enormous 5m tall.
PLATEOSAURUS is a dinosaur that lived during the Late Triassic period, around 214 to 204 million years ago. Plateosaurus was one of the first large plant-eating dinosaurs, a relative of the much larger sauropods. Fossil Bones were discovered in South Africa and China.
At the time of its discovery in 1903, BRACHIOSAURUS was declared the largest dinosaur ever, but other sauropods are now believed to have been bigger and heavier than Brachiosaurus. Brachiosaurs were built like huge giraffes; they had immensely long necks and relatively short tails. Their morphology is unusual among dinosaurs in that the forelimbs were longer than the hind limbs. They could live to be 100 years old. They ate around 400kg of plant food a day.
EDAPHOSAURUS, was primitive herbivorous relative of mammals that is found in fossil deposits dating from Late Carboniferous to the Early Permian periods (318 million to 271 million years ago). It was more than 3.5 metres long, with a short, low skull and blunt conical teeth. Most distinctively was the large sail on its back formed by elongated vertebral arches. It was interestingly closer related to mammals than to other dinosaurs.
VELOCIRAPTOR was a meat-eating dinosaur that lived during the Cretaceous Period about 75 million years ago. It was first discovered in 1923 in the Gobi Desert. Unlike it is portrayal in the movies, velociraptor was the size of a turkey, had feathers and only weighed about 15kg. Quite different than the man-sized and lizard-like creatures on the big screen and this vintage plastic portrayal of it. It is one of the most bird-like dinosaurs ever discovered. Like birds, velociraptors had a wishbone. They had long tails and a large, curved claw on each back foot.
STEGOSAURUS is a genus of herbivorous, four-legged, armored dinosaur from the Late Jurassic 150 million years ago, characterized by the distinctive kite-shaped upright plates along their backs and spikes on their tails. Stegosaurus is often called the dumbest dinosaur because of its incredibly small brain.
CORYTHOSAURUS is a genus of hadrosaurid "duck-billed" dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous period, about 7775.7 million years ago. Its name is derived from the Greek meaning "helmet".. It was about 910 m long, 2 m tall at the hips, and weighed 3-5 tons.
The large nasal horns and frills of STYRACOSAURUS (Spiked Lizard) are among the most distinctive facial adornments of all dinosaurs. The Styracosaurus is a herbivorous dinosaur that lived in the Cretaceous Period. The bulky body of Styracosaurus resembled that of a rhinoceros. Known for its distinctive frill adorned with sharp spikes and a prominent nose horn.
ANKYLOSAURUS is a genus of armored dinosaurs. Its fossils have been found in geological formations dating to the very end of the Cretaceous Period, about 6866 million years ago. With a quick whack of its clubbed tail, Ankylosaurus could likely shatter a T-Rex's bones, perhaps even killing the fearsome carnivore.
