Tangram is a Chinese geometrical puzzle consisting of a square cut into seven pieces which can be arranged to make various other shapes.
Tangrams help students at the middle grades develop spatial-visualization skills and introduce or reinforce geometric concepts such as congruence, similarity, symmetry, etc.

THE COMPANY OR BRAND NAME PLAYTHINGS IS A BIT UNCLEAR. VARIOUS VINTAGE EDUCATIONAL BOARD GAMES BY THIS COMPANY IS SEEN ONLINE MOST MADE IN SOUTH AFRICA. HOWEVER THERE WAS A PETER PAN PLAYTHINGS COMPANY IN ENGLAND AND A CREATIVE PLAYTHINGS COMPANY IN THE USA THAT PRODUCED EDUCATIONAL TOYS.
I have a suspicion though that Playthings was a brand name of EDUCO (Pty) Ltd which for over 45 years has been one of South Africas most highly respected and reliable importer, manufacturer and wholesaler of educational games, toys, puzzles, hobbies, construction sets, science kits, puppets and teaching aids.
