AWSOME VINTAGE (1960s) GRAFTON OF ENGLAND FOREIGN BRASS STANDARD TRUMPET
THIS IS A COLLECTABLE GRAFTON OF ENGLAND FOREIGN BRASS TRUMPET FROM THE MID TWENTIETH CENTURY. A RARE INSTRUMENT. MOTHER OF PEARL KEYS. FEW HAS SURVIVED. MARKED WITH THE WORDS "FOREIGN" AND GRAFTON. No numbers that I could find or other words. During the Middle Ages, the trumpet, more than any other instrument, was associated with pomp and pageantry. It was known as the "nobleman" among musical instruments, because trumpet performers stood at the king's right hand. Mother of Pearl Keys: Made from the inner layer of pearl oysters (also called nacre), they have a little more depth of color than plastic resin buttons do. They are durable and do not wear down after repeated use like plastic buttons can. CONDITION: Good vintage condition. HAS 3 SMALL DENTS IN PIPES. BRASS HAS SOME PETINA. KEYS MOVE FREELY DOWN BUT THE FIRST ONE SLOWLY RETURNS.TRIED TO PLAY IT FOR THE FIRST TIME AND GOT ONE OR TWO NOTES OUT. MIGHT NEED SOME SERVICE TO BE FULLY RESTORED. Size 56cm Long with mouthpiece PLEASE ALSO SEE MY OTHER ITEMS.
