In the game Azul, playerstake turns drafting colored tiles from suppliers to their player board. Laterin the round, players score points based on how theyve placed their tiles todecorate the palace. Extra points are scored for specific patterns andcompleting sets; wasted supplies harm the players score. The player with themost points at the end of the game wins.

Background:

Introduced by the Moors,'Azulejos' (originally white and blue ceramic tiles) were fully embraced by thePortugese, when their king Manuel I, on a visit to the Alhambra palace insouthern Spain, was mesmerised by the stunning beauty of the Moorish decorativetiles. The king, awestruck by the interior beauty of the Alhambra, immediatelyordered that his own palace in Portugal be decorated with similar wall tiles.
