AZWIFARWI RANGIMANA (SA 1962 -)

'LIGHTNING BIRD'

CARVED WOOD

SIZE : 208CM X 64CM X 63CM

SIGNED

CONDITION : MINT

South African sculptor Azwifarwi Ragimana, born in 1962 in Allubimbi village, Chandama, Limpopo, started his artistic journey at the young age of fifteen, guided by artist Simon Mikosi. Drawing inspiration from his ancestral roots and spiritual connections, Ragimana's sculptures are imbued with narratives that blend local lore, biblical teachings, and foreign mythologies. He approaches his work with careful preparation, envisioning measurements and proportions before crafting his art from carefully chosen pieces of wood. Through this process, Ragimana brings his visions to life in captivating and meaningful ways.
