Well Babyliss has come a long way since then and we can welcome their latest straightener to the market, the Babyliss PRO 230 radiance. Unsurprisingly it heats up to 230 degrees, but more interestingly it has four ceramic heaters embedded inside it.
The surface area is also larger than average, clocking in at 1.5 inches. It was heavier to use than my normal straighteners, and I was a little confused about the various settings having to resort to the manual, which is never a good sign. Once I'd figured it out, I was quite excited though. Instead of fiddly detachable plates, you have retractable fins, which let you style and straighten simultaneously. They have two levels, depending on the thickness of your hair, which is quite useful
The Babyliss Pro 230 Radiance would seem to be the favorite in the Babyliss range, having had rave reviews from users. It is regarded as the next generation of hair straighteners due to it's innovative technology which delivers the now expected salon-style results, which last twice as long as other straightening appliances on the market. It has even outperformed GHD. This model again demonstrates that Babyliss is the benchmark against which hair straighteners are measured.
