A RARE ANTIQUE PEWTER PLATE WHICH HAS A MAKERS MARK UNDERNEATH TOGETHER WITH A GRIFFON MARK AND "PK" WHICH ACCORDING TO (https://www.antiquers.com/threads/pewter-touch-stamp-help-lion-rampant-crowned-rose.42799/) IS A BRITISH TOWN MARK.

THE PLATE HAS A SCALLOPED RIM AND THE VERGE BESIDE THE RIM HAS BEEN DECORATED WITH ETCHED AS WELL AS EMBOSSED FLORAL AND PLUME DESIGNS AGAINST A LATTICE BACKGROUND. THE WELL OF THE PLATE HAS BEEN DECORATED WITH THE USE OF REPOUSSE AS WELL AS EMBOSSED GRAND BAROQUE SCROLL, LEAF AND PLUME FRAMING AN IMAGE OF BACCHUS (THE ROMAN GOD OF AGRICULTURE, WINE AND FERTILITY, EQUIVALENT TO THE GREEK GOD DIONYSUS)

STAMPS/MARKS ETC : AS DESCRIBED ABOVE

CONDITION : THE PLATE HAS AGE WEAR AND TWO SMALL HOLES ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE WELL. ASIDE FROM THIS IT HAS NO OTHER DAMAGES
