Original full brown leather, with embossed author's signature to front board. Saturn matt coated art paper to compliment the images.

This is a limited edition of 1500 numbered and signed copies.Number 1379.Signed by Peter Badcock to title page.

The war in Rhodesia had its origins in 1964, and continued in its preparatory phase through to 1972. It was in this year that it assumed its next phase, that of insurgency to the culmination and conclusion. It is a war that has torn and devastated the country. laagering the whites, scattering the blacks.

For the whites it is a war of survival; for the blacks-some of them-a war of liberation. For most, though, it was a war of endless complication, divided loyalties, pain and terror.

Although it was essentially a young man's war- on both sides- it has caught up the entire population, without discrimination, without regard for age or sex. It is these people--and their pain--that are depicted. Black and white, young and old.

The sequence of these drawings records the transition from peace, through the initial tensions and overtures, training, preparation and separations, to the harsh face of war itself.

Text with poems and images from this period, and its consequences.

Very clean copy. Slipcase some external wear to the leather.
