Bambusa tuldoides "Punting Pole" bamboo plants
Fast growing, tight clumping variety that produces many thick-walled culms.
It is similar to B. balcooa but is smaller and hardier.
Clumping bamboos have underground stems that sprout vertical shoots much closer to their parent plants, growing slowly outward.
Clumpers tend to be tropical or subtropical, and have many uses worldwide from building materials to paper production.
Punting pole bamboo was historically used for poles to push boats through narrow streams and canals, hence the name 'punting pole'...
This variety of bamboo is perfect for:
1. Hiding unsightly walls, structures or nosy neighbours!
2. Creating a beautiful living screen or backdrop to any entertainment area,
3. Growing a wind break for your outside pool, braai or parking area,
4. Dampening noisy neighbours or roads, whilst cleaning the air!
5. Having that oriental effect in your garden through planting a grove of path.
6. Getting strong, durable poles in 5 years after planting. Use these free poles for beautiful DIY jobs like screening around pools, building your own boma, balustrade etc.
This bamboo is semi drought and frost tolerant when young, and become very tough and resilient when mature (7-10yrs) whilst still behaving and being manageable well after that. .
For R30 you are getting:
Well rooted, individual young plants, average 2-4 stems.
Plants are trimmed shorter (20-30cm), roots are carefully wrapped in moist materials then plants are packaged in boxes and sealed. They can remain in these boxes for 2 weeks and still survive. Bamboo is an extremely tough plant.
