Bang & Olufson Beosystem 5000, excellent condition.
Overview:
This system (called the Beosystem 5000) includes the Beomaster 5000 (amplifier + tuner), Beogram 5000 (turntable), Beocord 5000 (cassette deck) and Master Control Panel 5000 (intelligent remote control).
The ultimate lifestyle hi-fi in great condition - sounds really good with looks to match . With original manuals & boxes.

Beomaster 5000 (amplifier & tuner)
55Watts per channel, can drive 2 sets of speakers, can connect 2 tapedecks, 1 turntable, 1 CD/aux.
External loop for processors, pre -out for secondary power amps.
9 FM & AM & LW preset stations, auto tuning or manual searching.
Can store a default volume level per input source.
Has proprietary B&O component connector sockets, as well as normal hi-fi connection plugs, so can connect other non-B&O components
Motorised hidden control panel - almost never need to use it though as you can control the entire system via the remote.
Beocord 5000 (cassette deck)

Cool features such as "rewind to start and play", and search next/prev song(s) music search, Memory set (remembers any point and can return to it at a button )
This deck works well but has this funny behaviour: All functions work except "Stop". It will cut the sound but the tape keeps turning. Everything else works and powering it off (even remotely) stops the tape correctly. Hopefully just a dirty relay or something, a mere annoyance most of the time.
4 digit tape counter. Automatic tape type selector (Chrome, Metal, etc), recording level, can record from line in, mic, aux (front plug)
Beogram 5000 (turntable).
Fully auto, press 1 button and it senses the record size, speed, and puts the needle at the beginning of the record. Press "Cue" - lift and hold the stylus. Then can "Cue" again to lower the stylus. Can "Repeat Play" the record up to 7 times.
Comes with almost brand new MMC5 cartridge, which cost a pretty penny in itself, as well as older used MMC4. the MMC5 sounds great, MMC4 is worn. Unit must stand on top if they're stacked. One button opens up the lid and a light comes on.
If you press play with no record on the deck, the arm will not move or put the stylus down.

This is where the fun starts!
This is not a hand held remote, but a coffee table piece. It doesn't have to aim at the System, in fact you put it where it works for you.
The MCP5000 doesn't only send, it also receives confirmation from the Beosystem and will alert you if it was out of range, or e.g. the Tape cannot be recorded like you requested because it's a protected tape, or what time & day of the week it is.
Has a hidden panel for programming tasks, in normal use you see a limited set of practical buttons, grouped logically.
Virtually everything can be controlled from here, and everything integrates very nicely. E.g.:
Press "Phono" on the remote. This will switch on the amp (if not on), switch to Phono input (if not already), and play the record. All within 7 seconds.
Now press "Tape" - the Record will "Cue" (lift but remain in place), the Amp will switch to "Tape", and the Tape will start playing.
Press Off and everything will stop (tone arm returns) and switch off.
Counter to Counter Postage with tracking numbers will be R265 (the 3 main units alone weigh in at 24kg together ! + it will be 4 parcels all together + the weight of the packaging).
