Bank Of Mauritius - Five Rupees
DESCRIPTION: 'The Bank of Mauritius was established in September 1967 as the nation’s central bank, and has been responsible for the issue of banknotes and coins since that time. The bank issued its first notes in 1967, comprising four denominations: 5, 10, 25, and 50 rupees, all undated and featuring a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on front. Over the years, some denominations were revised with new signatures of the Governor and Managing Director, but were otherwise unchanged.' - As quoted from Wikipedia.
CONDITION: I am no expert but would grade this note 'F' - Fine based on the definitions given by IBNS International Bank Note Society, link provided below. The note has had obvious wear with what would appear to be relatively high circulation. The paper is still fairly crisp with softening in the folds. The edges are still in very good condition with the only sign or start of a tear at the top of the centre fold, minuscule at that. Dirt is visible along the main folds and the note suffers from one staple hole. On the back there is a small spot/stain above the Bank Of Mauritius. All in all very nice. Please study the pictures for a more detailed description and better understanding of whats on offer.
