The Natura coin reflecting the Black Rhinoceros is included to highlight the plight of rhino at the hands of poachers

The 20 cent coin reflecting the King Protea which is one of the country's national symbols

The Farthing in use from 1923 to 1960 which depicts two Sparrows on a Mimosa branch
