How Does Timeshare Points Work???
Popular form of timeshare ownership and usage in South Africa is the purchase of points in a club. This is a unique form of non-specific holiday ownership that has all the benefits of timeshare. Instead of investing in a conventional timeshare week, one invests in a suitable amount of points. There is any number of such clubs, rules differ somewhat one from the other, but all operate within the same theme. Essentially, with this form of timesharing, the member buys a number of annually allocated points, which can be used to exchange for holiday accommodation.
Obviously, the higher the season, the more points you will require for a particular holiday. Each club has a point's timetable wherein each week is allocated a certain amount of points according to the time of the year, the size of the accommodation and the grading of the resort.
An annual membership fee is payable, as is an annual levy for the maintenance and management of the Club's timeshare portfolio. This is used to pay resort levies and cover the estimated annual costs of the scheme accommodation and to maintain the quality standards of the scheme accommodation owned by the Club. |

Flexiclub raise annual fees; They include your Subscriptions, Refurbishment Reserve and Holiday Contribution. This can be paid monthly (by debit order) - Annual levies is calculated at 6.5% of the value of your points, for example: 1475 points x R 11.40 per point = R 16815 @ 6.5% of value = R 1 093 per year (R 91.08 p.m over 9 months debit order)
Transfer Fees: There is a transfer fee of R 950 to transfer the points into your name. Transfer will take between 5-8 weeks. FICA documentation required (ID, Poof of recidence etc.)
