Recommended sowing rate:

Sow at a rate of 120 seeds (plants) per square meter. Thus this this packet only provides enough seed for 2m2. Ideally 8 to 12 hours of sunlight

Max yield of 700 grams per square meter (commercial average in South africa is 600 grams per square meter) . Unlikely to be achieved in the home garden but collected seed can be resown the next season, should be sufficient for sowing 160m2 if you get at least 400 grams per square meter, ie 800 grams from the full 2m2 of the first year. Worth the try as barley is a very low maintenance plant
