History

This portable shortwave receiver forAM, SSB and CW receptions was quite famous in the 70s. When this receiver wasdesigned, there were no DDS and PPL chips available. Therefore, the frequencystability is obtained by the Wadley loop. Many very creative electrical andmechanical solutions can be found in the receiver. The frequency band 0.5MHz to30MHz is covered in 30 bands of 1 MHz. Compared to similar receivers of thosedays, the frequency stability and reception quality is very good and the analogfrequency scale quite accurate (10 kHz). Tuning to an SSB station is notdifficult due to the fact that the whole shortwave is split into 30 bands of 1MHz and the clarifier.
