Professor Hubala explores the inspiration and impact of the complex and rich movement and discusses the works of such important and diverse exponents as Caravaggio, Velasquez, Rembrandt, Rubens, and above all, Bernini, the highly prolific painter, sculptor and architect whose work captures the quintessence of the Baroque style. 

From the flamboyance of Baroque, to the more delicate, decorative, lighter weight Rococo sensibility which can be seen in the Paris town house interiors of Boffrand, Tiepolo's mythological ceiling paintings, Fragonard's murals, Watteau's haunting and pensive mood studies, and the resurgence of such decorative arts as porcelain sculpture.
