The Hawkins Pro 524 is a powerful 12 & 24V battery charger designed to also Jump Start heavy motor vehicles up to 500A cranking capacity. This charger is ideally suited for the large motor workshop, service station or fleet operation, motor dealership and farms. The output is protected by a re-settable circuit breaker to guard against reverse polarity or too high a charging current. It has an overload re-settable breaker if the charge current exceeds the rated output of the charger. It is a manual taper charger and as such must be disconnected when the charge current falls close to zero. This jump starter / charger is not automatic and is therefore not recommended for the unsupervised charging of sealed batteries.
The Hawkins Pro 524 is developed for the professional fleet operator, farmer, panel beater, plant hire or service station owner. In engine starter mode the Hawkins Pro 524 uses mains electricity to power start a vehicle immobilised by a flat battery. The START BY-PASS button used to power start the vehicle, will supply in excess of 500 Amps DC. 12V or 24V selection is made by connecting the charging cable to either the 12V stud or 24V stud on the rear of the unit.
The transformer is protected by an automatic reset thermal circuit breaker. A 6 position rotary switch allows incremental selection of the charge current.
The Hawkins Pro 524 was designed in compliance with IEC 335-2-2 and has a two year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
