Battle Cries : The Most Stirring Speeches From History's Greatest Warriors, Activists and Revolutionaries, published by Metro Books, 2008, softcover, illustrated, index, 368 pages, condition: as new.

Features the most famous (or infamous) fighting words of powerful global leaders including Queen Elizabeth I, Nelson Mandela, John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Adolf Hitler, Napoleon, Abraham Lincoln, Mahatma Gandhi, and Joan of Arc. Author James Inglis provides an engaging discussion of the social, political and military context of this anthology.

If you are passionate in history along with the key person that shaped it, this is the right book. Majority of the speech that led to war, liberation, independence, rebellion, freedom and rights has been compiled in this book. My only advice is read this book not because you have to know but you want to know. Some of the speech is quite difficult to decipher and some are pretty straightforward. However, words has been proven sharper than any other weapons whether it's in form of propaganda, debate, speech, songs or poetry. All of this played a big part in every battlefield and warfare.
