The Mercedes Benz 300SL was a limited production race car built between '52 and '53. It was incredibly successful and scored overall wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in Bern-Bremgarten, in the sportscar race of the Eifelrennen at the Nrburgring, and in Mexico's Carrera Panamericana. It also managed 2nd and 4th places at its first outing, the Mille Miglia in 1952. At the time of its debut it held the record for world's fastest car.
