BBURAGO (1974-present): The Bburago, Lombard company founded by Cavalier Mario Besana in Burago di Molgora Italy, begins its story in 1974 as "Martoys" becoming the following year "Bburago". "Car Models to play there," was the slogan that appeared on the advertising of the early 80's and in fact this has been the policy of production where the model was not intended to be displayed in the window, but to be "played." The Italian Bburago ceased production in 2005, and the brand was bought by China May Cheong Group (founded in 1976 and current owner of the brand Maistro) acquired the rights to the Bburago brand and continues production of Buragos older models in China.
INTERESTING VW BEETLE FACTS: The Volkswagen Beetle, officially the Volkswagen Type 1 is Considered a global cultural icon. Its production period of 65 years is the longest of any single generation of automobile, and its total production of over 21.5 million is the most of any car. The Beetle was conceived in the early 1930s when the leader of Nazi Germany Adolf Hitler, decided there was a need for a people's caran inexpensive, simple, mass-produced carto serve Germany's new road network. The result was the Volkswagen Beetle and the introduction of the Volkswagen brand. Volkswagen initially slated production for the late 1930s, but the outbreak of WW2 meant that production was delayed until the war had ended. The car was originally called the Volkswagen Type 1 and marketed simply as the Volkswagen. It was not until 1968 that it was officially named the "Beetle". The original Beetle was in production for an astounding 65 years, from 1938 to 2003. However, prior to the discontinuation of the original Beetle, Volkswagen made a couple of attempts at evolving the Beetle as a car. In 1953 the original split rear glass windows was replaced by an oval window and In 1957 the oval rear window was replaced by a rectangular window and the side windows were enlarged. The New Beetle, was first introduced in 1997 but it didn't quite capture the popularity of the old Beetle.
