Oceana Beach and Wildlife Reserve is a luxurious haven in South Africa’s Eastern Cape, and the only combined ocean and game reserve in Southern Africa. The resort forms part of Mantis Collection’s ultimate Garden Route journey. A short drive from the quaint seaside town of Port Alfred and with a seven kilometre stretch of private soft sandy beach on one side and 850 hectares of unspoilt bush on the other, this really is the best of both worlds.
Friendly faces and delicious fruit cocktails await your arrival at Oceana. While your luggage is taken to your suite fall into one of the comfy couches in the lounge, browse the books in the library or take a walk to the games room where you’ll find, among other things, a pool table and organic tea, coffee and hot chocolate for you to help yourself at any time. Each of the Lodge Suites have been decorated in the theme of the different animals you may encounter while there. Inspired by local artefacts, the décor is authentic to the surroundings.
The opulent Private Ocean House can accommodate up to six people and is decorated in an understated African chic style. With every luxury catered for, no stone has been left unturned. From private dinners and long soaks in the heated Jacuzzi, it’s an entertainer’s dream without the cleaning up. The Oceana Wellness Centre overlooking the infinity rock pool has two treatment rooms with heated beds and the double treatment room has a soothing jet bath.
After a three course lunch feast you might feel like a workout in the well-equipped gym or simply relax and let the toxins seep away in the spacious steam room.
