Beautiful and unusual Turkoman carpet. Great piece, particularly fine

On auction is this beautiful and particularly fine hand-knotted Oriental rug in good condition. Despite being a vintage piece which will benefit from a good vacuum and possibly a professional clean, there are no obvious signs of wear, partly thanks to this rug being used as a wall-hanging for most of its life.

A wonderful carpet which will make an excellent focus point in any room. Well sized at 193 x 128cm. The unusual design features two rows of elongated Bokhara medallions on an ivory field with an elaborate and intricate border in the traditional deep red and grays. The weave is particularly fine – possibly one of the finest woven Turkomans I have ever encountered with an unusually dense knot-count.
