Beautiful Cape Brass Coffee Urn and Konfoor - T.C. Falck 1972 Robertson

A Cape brass coffee urn and konfoor, T.C. Falck, Robertson, 20th century. The cylindrical urn stamped 'T.C. FALCK, MAKER ROBERTSON'. The sides applied with strap work handles, the pierced square konfoor with side drawer, raised on four bracket feet. 

Thomas Falck was born in Robertson in 1898 and learnt the copper-smith's trade as an apprentice in the workshop of F.J. Staal.
Konfoors each had their own patterns and decorative piercings which served as ventilation and were characteristic of a specific maker. Inside the konfoor, is a spherical 'tessie' which was the receptacle for the live coals.

The item is second hand and in an excellent condition.
