BEAUTIFUL LARGE "LONDON BLUE" TOPAZ VINTAGE RING FROM BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND.
Topaz comes in many colours and shades. The more the saturation of blue, the higher the value. The "London Blue" topaz is regarded as one of the highest value topaz gemstones and this piece has a particularly good deep hue. What I love about this ring is the brightness of the yellow gold in contrast to the stone. At 4,1 grams, it is a solid and fairly heavy ring. The stone itself is approximately 5,90 carats. The design is a simple striking solitaire, raised quite high above the finger.
The hallmarks are all clear, showing the jeweller mark QVC, 375 for 9 carat gold, the Birmingham Assay Office and the date mark for 1999. Its a very stunning piece of vintage England!
