This item is secondhand and in good condition. This is a rare collectible vintage 1950s powder compact by Stratton. This is known as the Queen shape, the Princess shape or the oiecrist shape. The brass compact has an enamel lid depicting ballerina Svetlana Beriosova in a scene from 'Sleeping Beauty'. The scene was taken from a photograph by Sterling Henry Nahum, who used to sign his works 'Baron'. Nahum was the royal court photographer to the British Royal Family. His most celebrated photographs were those of ballet dancers, the nobility and royalty. This compact is in good condition for its age and the powder puff is present. It measures 8,5 cm in diameter. It is still highly sought after by collectors and would be a lovely addition to a collection. Please view images as part of description. Welcome to combine items.
