A beautiful and ornate fine solid silver spice tower, also known as a Besamin. The piece is marked "Sharaby 999" accordingly, and in good overall condition save for the little ball with dove on being a little dinged in on the top.
The spice tower (or besamim) in used during the Havdalah, a Jewish ritual that marks the end of the holy Sabbath, in which a special candle and/or spice essence are used for blessing, and the spice smelling is perceived as enhancing the Jewish spirit after the pleasantry of the Shabbat before returning to daily routine.
