GORGEOUS GENUINE MOTHER OF PEARL BANGLE

This beautiful piece is mother-of-pearl both inside and out. On the arm, it is just stunning, the colours are incredible! The extraordinary iridescence of mother-of-pearl is all natural. Mother-of-pearl is a layer you find inside the shells of molluscs (mainly abalone and oysters) and is created as a protective shield. The outside of the bangle has a rainbow iridescence with dark greeny gray sea colours and touches of purple. The inside is flat, creamy white with touches of brown. Curved on the outside, the mother-of-pearl is laid in flat 'tiles' with the variety of colours mixed to add interest - dark against light, silvery green against purplish blues. Although 'tiled', the outside is smooth to the touch as is the inside. It really is a beautiful piece of work. It is nice and heavy (just under 80 grams), which gives the bangle a feeling of quality. It is generally a very special piece of jewellery.
