Beautiful Vintage Silver Norwegian Brooch

Description:

This unusual silver vintage Norwegian ‘Solje’ brooch is in excellent condition. ‘Solje’ is Norway’s traditional silver jewellery. Its dangling spoons once were thought to reflect evil away from the wearer, protection one from trolls and other dangers, especially in times of transition. This beautiful piece was produced by ‘Elvik & Co.’ of Oslo Norway. It is stamped on the back ‘925 STERLING NORWAY’ with ‘Elvik & Co’s’ traditional stamp. It probably dates from around the 1950’s.
