Antique Indonesian Balinese Kris/Dagger

This early Balinese Kris has a wavy snake like blade with a wonderful pamar (the pattern the metal alloy has formed on the blade when forged) and a magnificently carved scabbard and handle with a nice mix of light and dark wood. The blade has some minor pitting, otherwise it's in good condition and there is a stone missing in the brass collar above the blade. The scabbard and handle are in perfect condition. The Kris measures 58.5cm in length, 19.5cm at its widest and weighs 695g.

The Kris or Krisis is an Indonesian double-edged dagger both a weapon and a spiritual object. They are often considered to possess an essence or presence, with magical powers, functioning as a protective amulet.
