This is a Ben Lavin Medallion set no. 192 of only 5000 sets issued worldwide in 1975 by The Wildlife Society of S.A

The set contains 8 proof medallions struck in AU 999.9 fine silver covered with a 24kt gold plating.

The medallions are 50mm in diameter and has a mass of approximately 59 grams each ( 2 troy ounces )

There are 8 well known South African animals depicted on the medallions, such as the Lion, Rhino, Elephant, etc.
