 Beswick pottery was founded in 1892 by James Wright Beswick. The company are well known for their beautiful animal figurines. Beswick were bought out by Royal Doulton in 1969, however they continued to make animal figurines until their closure in 2002. The Beswick backstamp was used until 1989 when it was dropped in favour of the Royal Doulton backstamp.
