BH1750FVI DIGITAL LIGHT INTENSITY SENSOR MODULE FOR ARDUINO, AVR, PIC OR ARM
Product information
This is a BH1750 light intensity sensor breakout board with a built-in 16 bit AD converter which directly outputs a digital signal. There is no need for complicated calculations and it is more accurate and easier to use than a simple photo resistor which only outputs an Analog voltage that has to be converted in order to obtain meaningful data. With the BH1750 Light Sensor the light intensity can be directly measured and the output data of this sensor is output in Lux (Lx). Sometimes it is better to add a reflector to the illuminator, so that there will be more luminous flux spread in every direction and that increases the accuracy of the sensor.
Typical light intensities:
Dark night: 0.001 - 0.02 lx
Moonlit night: 0.02 - 0.3 lx
Cloudy outside – indoor light intensity: 5 – 50 lx
Cloudy outside: 50 – 500 lx
Sunny outside – indoor light intensity: 100 – 1000 lx
Bright sunlight on a summer afternoon: about 1,000,000 lx
Light intensity for reading books: 50 – 60 lx
Home video standard light intensity: 1400 lx
