Big Game: Part 5 of Caltex series of Booklets
The Big Game series by Ian Player was a set of, in some cases, booklets or monographs published in collaboration with Caltex (Caltex Service for Community Development) around 1972.
These publications aimed to document the history, rapid decline (decimation), and subsequent, often pioneering, efforts to conserve wildlife in southern Africa, particularly within the Natal and Zululand regions.
The booklets cover topics such as the conservation efforts, with a heavy emphasis on "Operation Rhino," which was led by Ian Player to save the white rhino from extinction.
