BIGGLES IN THE ORIENT by Captain W E Johns

Biggles and his squadron are rushed to the Far East under the most mysterious circumstances.  When they arrive at Karachi, India, they are told what their mission is.

The RAF are losing planes.  Aircraft take off; sometimes nothing happens to them - increasingly, though, they fail to return, and not apparently through obvious enemy action.

"They just fall from the sky", Biggles is told.  Have the Japanese discovered a new death ray?  Biggles takes his life in his hands and flies across the jungle to attempt to stop the destruction of pilots and planes.  As usual, adventure falls thick and fast around him.
