Background:

The Billao Knife used by the the Italian African Police or P.A.I from 1 June 1936 to 1 December 1941 (ref attached Photo). This Billao was one of the first Patterns issued due to the inscription P.C "Polizia Coloniale"on the blade which means Colonial Police - which was the first donomination of the corps which later took the name P.A.I (In 1939 it became "Polizia dell'Africa Italiana or PAI).

Specifications:

The handle is made from buffalo horn and has a brass oval with the Savoia coat of arms.
The Scabbard is original hand-made from leather - note that sheath knife clip is broken (both male and female clips are available
Total lenght 310mm, blade 193mm and weight +-300grams without the sheath.
The knife is in a well used, un-cleaned, unrestored ORIGINAL condition
