Vintage Bircher Haglund Sterling Silver and Jasper Screw-on Earrings

The pair of earrings are handcrafted in sterling silver. Each features a rectangular, cabochon jasper gemstone (pale yellow, brown and moss green) in a rub-over, stepped setting. The rear of the panel is mounted with a screw-back, and is stamped "HAND MADE, HAGLUND, STERLING SILVER".

Bircher Haglund was born in Sveg, Sweden, in 1918. After his silversmith training, he lived in South Africa from 1948 to 1952, where he produced jewellery from his temporary workshop. He returned to Sweden, where he died many years later in 2006.
