The book summarizes records collected over a ten year period from 1980 to 1990.
The information is introduced by an extensive and well researched introductory set of chapters covering the ornithology, geology, botany and geomorphology of Botswana which sets the scene for the distribution maps which follow.
The maps show not only the distribution but also seasonal abundance and movements as well as the distribution of each species throughout Africa.
