The Bird Nest Fern Parvati has a character all its own. Its crinkled, wavy leaves bring texture and a touch of wild greenery indoors. Compact, hardy, and easy to care for, it's the perfect fern for adding something different to your collection.
Commonly known as: Bird Nest Fern Parvati
The Bird Nest Fern Parvati is a fun twist on the classic bird nest fern. Instead of the usual smooth fronds, Parvati shows off with crinkled, rippling leaves that almost look like green waves. This unique texture makes it a real eye-catcher, even among other ferns.
Light:
Ferns don't want harsh light, and Parvati is no exception. A bright spot with indirect light is ideal. Think of dappled sunlight through trees that's the kind of light it loves. If it's too dark, growth will slow; too much sun, and the fronds will scorch.
💧 Watering:
Ferns like to stay evenly moist. Let the top layer of soil just start to dry before watering again. It's important not to let it sit soggy though, so always make sure the pot drains well.
🌡 Temperature & Humidity:
Parvati likes warmth between 1826°C. It also thrives in humidity, so if your home is dry, mist it regularly or pop it in a bathroom or kitchen.
🪴 Soil & Repotting:
Use our Aroid Mix, or combine Barks Unlimited Potting Soil with Perlite. Add Bark Chips when repotting to improve airflow. Ferns don't need big pots repot every 2 years just to refresh the mix.
🍃 Fertiliser:
Feed lightly every 46 weeks in the growing season. A dose of Controlled Release Fertiliser or Organic Fertiliser keeps the foliage lush.
🐛 Pests:
Usually problem-free, though you might occasionally spot scale or mealybugs. Wipe down fronds and use insecticidal spray if needed.
If you're after a fern that's a little less ordinary, the Bird Nest Fern Parvati is a perfect choice hardy, unusual, and full of texture.
