Description (overview)

The Bitaxe Gamma 601 is a super-efficient 1.2 TH/s mini Bitcoin miner using only around 18 W of power roughly R50/month in electricity at South African rates. For just R3 999, its a serious hobby / educational miner for solo lotto-style experiments or pool mining with tiny BTC payouts.

Lotto vs Bitaxe

Many people happily spend R50 a month on Lotto tickets.
The Bitaxe Gamma 601 uses about the same R50/month in electricity to hash 24/7. With solo mining, youre effectively in the draw every new Bitcoin block (roughly every 10 minutes). Its still a long shot, but youre spinning hashes instead of lucky numbers and for R3 999 you own a real piece of mining hardware either way.

IMPORTANT:

This is a hobby and educational mini-ASIC, not a guaranteed investment.
Even at 1.2 TH/s, solo mining is very unlikely to hit a full Bitcoin block. Pool mining can give you small BTC payouts, but at South African electricity prices you should treat this as a fun tech project and learning tool, not a sure way to make profit.
