Jet Li stars in this sci-fi action adventure directed by Daniel Lee. Having left his past as part of a failed supersoldier project known as the 701 Squad behind him, Tsui Chik (Li) is trying to live a quiet life as a librarian. When the goverment decided to shut the project down and eliminate all of the surviving subjects, Tsui Chik helped his fellow agents escape to safety.

However, when he learns that they are now responsible for a violent crime spree which the police are powerless to stop, he decides to adopt the mantle of the Black Mask and take them on himself. The cast also includes Karen Mok, Lau Ching Wan and Patrick Lung.
