Black Nikomat FT2 SLR Body with Nikkor H 50mm F2 Lens

**Fully Functional, Near Mint**

The body and lens are in nearly mint condition and fully functional,

Lens is haze, scratch and fungus free.

Light meter reads accurately, and shutter fires correctly at all speeds

Introduced in 1975. In many areas, the Nikkormat FT-2 closely resembles earlier model, the Nikkormat FTn but it has an additional accessory shoe contact which permits the use for of direct shoe mount flash apart from a single screw-threaded 3 mm (PC) flash contact at the left hand side of the body. (The FTn, however, had double 3 mm (PC) flash socket (M or X synchronized), there is no hot shoe and film-speed setting lock). Another significant difference is the meter circuit of the FT2 is powered by a more environmental friendlier 1.5v silver-oxide cell instead of the FTn's 1.3-volt mercury cell.

The camera body is made of a die-cast aluminium alloy and finished in chrome plating or either in a rarer black. It differs from the
1977's FT3 as the FT2 is still a non-AI Nikon SLR body but has an improved semi automatic indexing from the earlier 1965's FT and FTn of 1967 (The FT3 differs from the FT2 only in having the all important AI (automatic maximum aperture indexing) feature). Both FT2 and FT3 feature a multiple blade all-metal Copal Square S focal plane shutter with shutter speeds from 1 to 1/1000 sec. plus B. The built-in self-timer operates at about 8 sec.At speeds of 1/125 sec. and below they are X-synchronized, at higher speeds they are M-synchronized.

The camera body is made of a die-cast aluminium alloy and finished in either chrome plating or black and thus give it such a distinctive solid feel. Since all Nikkormat bodies are built to supplement the professional bodies of the F2. It has a non-interchangeable eye-level prism finder with built-in, through-the-lens centre-weighted exposure meter providing 92% of the picture field. The standard K screen has a matte-fresnel field and central split-image rangefinder surrounded by a micro-prism collar. Both shutter speed and lens aperture information are visible in the viewfinder. There are two way to check the meter reading, inside the viewfinder or externally on the top plate. As any other mechanical Nikkormats, the depth-of-field preview button is also locates at the top plate and a featured similar mirror lock-up control. Shutter speeds are set by a ring round the lens mount, and ASA speeds by an index below the lens. This index is locked unless the catch on the shutter speed setting lever is pulled.

The meter is switched on with the film transport lever; it provides centre-weighted through-the-lens meter measurement at full or shooting aperture. Housed in the base plate of the camera, the silver oxide battery powers the meter which has a moderate sensitivity range from EV3 to EV I7 (The equivalent of f1.4 at 1/4 sec. to f11 at 1/1000 sec.). ASA/Film Speed ranges from 6 to 1600.

The Nikkormat FT2 accepts most Nikon F and F2 accessories except it has a non-interchangeable finders, screens, motor drives (It cannot be used with the Nikon AW-1 Winder) and film backs.

Please note I mainly specialize in cameras and lenses, I also do conversions on lens mounts

and conversions from fixed lens rangefinder cameras to mirrorless camera bodies,
