VERY very large rare, exquisite, dignified hand reared Black feathered Taiwanese rooster. He is intelligent and observant and interested in everything around him. He is semi tame, of magnificent prize features, has blue black feathers and a purple comb (the photos came out with a red comb but its just the light. His comb is a deep purple colour). He was hand reared from a tiny chick, bit since we have another rooster, and he is a very dominant rooster, the two birds are fighting. As much as it breaks my heart, I have to find another loving home for him. He is an excellent master of the chicken coop, and is able to control and service over 100 chickens. He IS NOT FOR EATING!! If you live on a plot or farm, he would make an excellent addition to your coop. He has a soft crowing voice.

I will only let him go to an approved home and you will have to collect him from Johannesburg. Its VERY rare to find a pure black Taiwanese rooster, as most of them have red in their feathers. He is pure black. I am charging a nominal fee for him as its not about the money. I want the person who purchases him to love him, protect him and to appreciate this magnificent bird,  and treat him with respect and dignity. He is extremely big and heavy and far bigger than most roosters I have ever raised, and definately much bigger than a chicken.

Just some chicken information for those who are interested. The Year of the Chicken is the symbol of the 10th year in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese lunar calendar.

In  sequence, the animals representing the successive years in the cycle are the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep--not ram--monkey, chicken, dog and pig. Chicken people are those born in the Chinese lunar-calendar years that begin in the Western solar-calendar years 2005, 1993, 1981 and 1969, for example.

If you are born in the  year of the rooster you are said to be highly observant and have the ability to foresee outcomes accurately. Plausibly, this may be based on the popular perception that chickens sense the coming of dawn, and roosters crow the news to the world, ahead of other animals, as well as on the claim that chickens' behavior is a reliable indicator of imminent changes in weather.

Whoever gets my beautiful bird will be a very lucky person.
