Do you SMS a lot? Then this is really the phone for you!
The full keyboard and BIG screen makes SMS'ing very easy.
This is really a nifty little phone, the user interface is excellent and the features are great compared to our entry-level phones. The address book etc. is just way more advanced and you can store multiple numbers per contact, etc. It also supports BlueTooth.
It connects and charges from your PC via an ordinary 9-pin USB-mini cable which I will supply. I do not have the box as I imported it without one from the USA.
I imported three BlackBerry phones and decided to keep one, also a 7290, as my backup phone.
The unit is in very good condition but has two marks either side of the blackberry sign on the phone, as can be seen in the one photo.

Does it work?
I have put my Vodacom SIM card in and made and received calls on it. I've sent and received SMS's on it and everything works great. I did not test it on Cell-C or MTN, but I assume they will also work.
BUT:
It seems getting the Blackberry BIS service enabled will be a mission, as this phone was used on another network in the US, and BIS was registered there. You don't need it to use it as a phone but if the Blackberry Service is important to you I suggest you first read up on if it will be possible to do it, and keep that in mind when bidding.
