Air Multiplier™ fans work differently from conventional fans. They use Air Multiplier™ technology to draw in air and amplify it – from 15 to 18 times, depending on the model. With no blades or grille, they're safe and easy to clean. And they produce an uninterrupted stream of smooth air, with no unpleasant buffeting.
Blades cause buffetingThe blades on conventional fans cause unpleasant buffeting because they chop the air before it hits you.

No blades. No buffeting.Air Multiplier™ technology amplifies surrounding air, giving an uninterrupted stream of smooth air.

1. Air is drawn in
Up to 20 litres of air per second is drawn in by an energy-efficient, brushless motor. A combination of the technologies used in turbochargers and jet engines generates powerful airflow.
2. Air is accelerated
Airflow is accelerated through an annular aperture. It passes over a 16° airfoil-shaped ramp, which channels its direction.
3. Air is induced
Air behind the Air Multiplier™ fan is drawn into the airflow, through a process known as inducement.
4. Air is entrained
Air around the machine is also drawn into the airflow, through a process known as entrainment, amplifying it 15 times.
