AN ANTIQUE ZULU SPEAR PICKED UP AT THE BLOOD RIVER MEMORIAL SITE BY FENCING CONTRACTORS. THIS HIGHLY COLLECTABLE AND SOUGHT AFTER ANTIQUE IS 144.5 CM FROM TIP OF SPEARHEAD TO END OF THE FLUTED HANDLE.THE SPEARHEAD IS 15.5 CM AND THE VISIBLE PART OF THE SHAFT IS 20CM. THE GRIP IS MADE OF ANIMAL INTESTINE TWISTED AROUND THE SHAFT AND IS 19 CM LONG.

THE SPEARHEAD HAS A "FLAKED" PIECE OF METAL(PLEASE SEE PHOTOS)  APPROX 1CM BY 1.5 CM POSSIBLY CAUSED BY  THE BLADE EITHER BENDING OR STRIKING A HARD OBJECT LIKE BONE OR  EVEN ROCK.THE ANIMAL INTESTINE GRIP IS SLIGHTLY SPLIT ON EITHER END AS A RESULT OF AGE AND THE WOODEN FLUTED SHAFT IS WORN ON THE END(PLEASE SEE PHOTOS) WITH A SMALL CRACK ON THE SHAFT.

THE OVERALL CONDITION OF THE SPEAR IS OTHERWISE GOOD AND IS AN ABSOLUTE TREASURE !!!!

POST AND PACKAGING WILL BE R85.00 AND THIS EXCLUDES INSURANCE WHICH EQUATES TO 2 % OF THE VALUE OF THE WINNING BID.
