Blood Stone ---
Olive green Quartz variety of the Chalcedony family, with red to brown inclusions, [iron oxide].
Green is chlorite particles or Hornblende needles, which crystals, seen only with an electron microscope.
Other names : Heliotrope / Blood Jasper
Heliotrope, the Greek words "sun" & "turning”; when immersed in water it turns the sun red.
Mother Goddess stone, associated with Isis, Horus and the Black Madonna.
Powdered Bloodstone is used for medicinal and aphrodisiac purposes in India.
Alchemists crushed it for cures.
Jesus' blood apparently dripped from the cross, staining the Jasper. Used for flagellation & martyrdom sculptures; hence "The Martyr's Stone" Babylonians used it for divination.
