Zircon is the gem most like diamond in its ability to refract and reflect light - so imagine this gem as a Beautiful Blue Diamond!!!! This gem is VERY pleasing to the eye and will make a much loved and worn piece of Jewelry.
It is a challenge for a gem cutter to cut good Zircon. Good clean gem grade zircon is difficult to source and if the cutter is not careful, Zircon cracks when it is being cut. The hardness is 7.5 so it is a hard wearing gem that should last a lifetime without abrasion.
This is a Natural Zircon (not synthetic cubic zirconium) Looking through a 10 X jewelers loop the gem is well cut and polished. It is classed as VS1(eye clean) and the facets are excellent with no chips or abrading. MUCH better than the pictures. Zircon's over 2 Cts carry a premium!
