Boarding Party by James Leasor, 1978, First Edition
The last action of the Calcutta light horse
with a forward by the admiral of the fleet, the Earl Mountbatten of Burma
James Leasor was a prolific British author, who wrote historical books and thrillers. A number of Leasor's works were made into films, including his 1978 book, Boarding Party, about an incident from the Second World War that until that time was secret, was turned into a film, "The Sea Wolves", starring Gregory Peck, Roger Moore and David Niven. The mission remained secret until 1978 due to the fact that the British had infringed Portuguese neutrality, when its story was told in the book, Boarding Party, by James Leasor. It was dramatised in the film The Sea Wolves (1980) starring Gregory Peck, Roger Moore and David Niven.
