He and Suze Rotolo split and we hear Bob flirt with protest music enough to realize his truest protest lay in the inner workings of the human condition. Drafting lyric from newspaper article to responding to having been denied a hotel room just before a Newport folk festival performance Bob Dylan takes shape and proves the pen mightier than the sword. This recording also showcases some of Bobs finest guitar playing as a solo artist, at times sounding like an entire band and true to form capturing the essence of each song in few takes. A must have for any for hard fan or anyone just discovering or becoming curios of this highly influential artist and American figure.
