About the Book
When Body Language first appeared, it opened an entirely new dimension in popular psychology the study of non-verbal communication as a window into thought, emotion, and human motive. Julius Fasts accessible synthesis of social science research and everyday observation helped a wide readership recognize the silent, unconscious codes of posture, gesture, and movement that reveal how we truly feel beneath our words.
The book explores body movement as emotional expression from intimacy and attraction to concealment and power. Topics include personal space, eye contact, sexual signalling, and the cultural grammar of gesture. Its influence spread far beyond psychology, shaping early training in communication, business, and even law enforcement.
